| Why Britain needs a referendum |
[15 Jun 2008|09:30am] |
Quote from Irish independent newspaper
"Valery Giscard d'Estaing. He was the one who let the cat out of the bag, so to speak. He was the one who said we are going to get this constitution . . . like it or not, embedded in that unintelligible draft."
Mr d'Estaing, a former French president, was quoted in Le Monde last year saying, "public opinion will be led to adopt, without knowing it, the proposals we dare not present to them directly".
This is totally unacceptable. So it's not really a treaty, just the EU constitution in disguise to create a federal european superstate ruled by Germany and France.

I suppose half of Britain and Europe are trying to figure out why Ireland rejected the Lisbon treaty. To be fair, this poster must have helped...

Also our EU partners need look no further than the French foreign minister M.Bernard Kouchner who told Irish newspapers last week that Ireland will be "the first victim" if voters reject the Lisbon Treaty in this Thursday's referendum. and Irish voters would only be punishing themselves if they voted No.
If this is an example of EU democracy then M. Bernard and his friends need to learn some political diplomacy. That was just what the No campaign needed and found their justification. Sins

| Ireland's Turkey for eurovision? |
[11 Feb 2008|02:04pm] |
Ireland has selected six songs for the Eurovision song contest and we'll all have the joy of voting to choose the best song to represent us! The favourite is a famous rude puppet called Dustin the Turkey. We haven't heard the song yet, but the other contestants are hysterical with anger that the Eurovision is being turned into a joke(cough cough)* This is a sample of what Europe might hear and see if Dustin wins through. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ph6K0_WJGrI&feature=related

| Lanzarote, Brad Pitt and why I'm jinxed! |
[29 Oct 2007|07:23pm] |
Sooo, what could be better than breaking the Irish winter with a nice week in lanzarote you may ask ! 30 deg sunshine, great food and good friends. While I was basking in glorious sunshine who should turn up in Castlemartyr village last weekend? Yup, Brad Pitt and Ms Jolie and Brad had a few pints in the local bar. It seems the 5 star Castlemartyr Resort on my doorstep has been attracting some tasty VIPs and there I was 3,ooo km away. Awww shit.As long as I'm at home if Johnny Depp or Matthew McConaughey call then thet'll make up for it. Sins

Finally home from hols. lanzarote was as always a delight, sunny weather but not scorching hot.Lots to do for husband and kids which kept them out of my hair, allowing me to unwind in the sun. We finally got to lanza at 9 am on Monday morning, following a 3 am flight.Kids were wiped out and hubby not much better, but we didn't let it impact on the holiday at all. I guess I need to drop into the first choice holiday shop and whinge for my money back for my lost night of accommodation and all inclusive package and then need to fill out insurance forms to claim the princely sum of €160 for delayed flight. Oh yes, I need a letter from bastard airlines explaining to the insurer why it was delayed for so long.I'm sure I'll write a nice friendly e mail to them. *Snorts* Ah feck need to do a 2 hr drive to collect my dog from parents house. I was supposed to be landing inLanzarote right now on our family holiday. Got to the airport, checked in at 10.00 am to be told the flight was delayed until 15.30 .Was disgusted asnd went up to the restaurant for some breakfast, heard the announcement that all passengers for our flight should report to the servisair desk. Flight had been cancelled until further notice due to technical problems!! fabian wouldn't believe me, thought it was April's fool joke. So we have to go back to airport at 1.30 am tomorrow and hopefully they'll have a plane for us as the other one had a "technical fault" Sins

[13 Feb 2007|02:25pm] |
It was judaism or agnostic!!
 | You scored as agnosticism. You are an agnostic. Though it is generally taken that agnostics neither believe nor disbelieve in God, it is possible to be a theist or atheist in addition to an agnostic. Agnostics don't believe it is possible to prove the existence of God (nor lack thereof).
Agnosticism is a philosophy that God's existence cannot be proven. Some say it is possible to be agnostic and follow a religion; however, one cannot be a devout believer if he or she does not truly believe.
Judaism | | 83% | agnosticism | | 83% | Buddhism | | 79% | Islam | | 75% | Hinduism | | 67% | Paganism | | 58% | atheism | | 54% | Christianity | | 42% | Satanism | | 38% | </td>

| Celebrity Big Bully |
[16 Jan 2007|02:14pm] |
Am I the only one appalled by the treatment of Shilpa Shetty on Celebrity Big brother? I'm stunned to see how Jade Goody has assembled the Chav brigade to bitch and backbite about Shilpa and basically treat her like dirt. I don't think it's racially motivated as some newspapers have claimed, but it's bullying, plain and simple. Danielle has destroyed any chance of a career that she may have had outside BB and Jade has damaged hers. It's sad when that idiot boyfriend of hers can't zip up his dick and cop himself on. Even surprised at Jo O'Meara, who now hasn't got a snowball's chance in hell of convincing a record company that she's got star quality. All she does now is sit on a couch with a fag in her fat face and bitch about a perfectly gorgeous girl. *Although they may have had a point about the chicken being undercooked, Danielle spitefully stated that " No wonder all Indian's were skinny and ill". Nice one Danielle, In darling Teddy's lingo, that one was an own goal! Sins

[13 Aug 2006|07:03pm] |
I couldn't avoid covering the nightshift last night.Consequently, I'm dizzy and sore, my back is seriously ruined. I haven't been in touch with anyone over the week. has Titch been abducted by aliens? Good luck to Toni in Oswestry. I also saw that smiler's fusion hasn't taken and she's facing possibly another surgery. That's so disheartening, I hope it works out well for her. Am off work tomorrow and hoping to catch up with everyone. Sins
